Beyonce the solo artist as well as lead singer of Destiny Child has been sued on many occasions for copyright issues.
She has now been known for many people claiming she has stolen their original works and claim them as her own. In
2006 and suit was brought against her by songwriter Rickey Allen for a song her group Destiny Child performed or published
in 2004 called Cater 2 U. This song has the same name and lyrics as the Allen song which was copyrighted in the 1990's.
Not only was she cited for this incident but her clothing line took a hit also when she had to appear before a judge for
the leggings she claimed ownership of that was an ideal copied from someone else. After reading all these suits brought
against Beyounce, it makes me wonder how much of her creativity is really her own work. How many other stars are
stealing the talents and creativity of others and claiming them as their own. This is a serious matter and I feel that music and
lyrics could be shared as long as the originator gets credit and compensated for their works.
Sad. It does make one wonder... there are those who toil in obscurity and create works of astonishing beauty and then there are those who would steal the beauty and claim it as their own.
